The photo on the top is the original, the photo on the bottom is the doctored one. People shouldn't make a big deal out of this. All the photographer did was make it to where it didn't look like a pole was sticking out of the lady's head. If the photographer left it how it was, the pole would become distracting to the people observing the picture and they wouldn't be able to focus as much on the subject of what is going on (meaning the dead student). It's not like they took a picture of a dead student and pasted it onto an original photo or something, the meaning of the picture is still there.

This photo manipulation was/is completely unethical. Why would you paste Oprah's head to Ann Margaret's body? Everyone knows that Oprah is a big lady. No one would believe that. It makes no sense to me.
